Livelihood Law Highlights of 2023

As 2023 comes to a close, we’d like to take the opportunity to thank our clients, staff, colleagues, and friends on the tremendous year we’ve had and highlight the Top 10 moments:

1. Relocating – At the beginning of 2023, Rachel and the team made the decision to relocate offices from Quebec St. down to 46th Ave off of Peoria St. Not only is our new space easier to access for our clientele, but we are now able to accommodate our ever-growing firm!

2. Extern Program – This year we had some knockout externs that truly raised the bar for us as a firm! We’d like to personally thank Kit Longnecker and Maggie Walsh for their dedication, talent, drive, and above all, glowing personalities. 2023 would never have been so successful without you, thank you ladies!

3. POWR Act – As you may know from our previous blog post, the Protecting Opportunities and Workers’ Rights Act or POWR for short, was a crucial win for Colorado employees. Our very own Rachel Ellis had a significant hand in shaping the legislation for this win and we couldn’t be happier about these increased protections for employees.

4. New Personnel – In addition to our suite new gigs, we welcomed two new people to the ranks: David R. Lichtenstein as our Of Counsel Attorney and Jake Edmondson as our Office Manager. Both started in June and have already made positive impacts on the firm.

5. Metrics – This year we helped 334 people with their legal needs. We are so honored to be your trusted legal advisors!

6. Record Number of Trials – As a small firm, when big victories happen for our clients, we like to celebrate! Winning large settlements for our clients is why we do what we do.

7. Networking Events – We’re so happy to be back to seeing colleagues in person. Being active in the Colorado legal community is essential in helping individuals find the right representation, whether that be with us or our esteemed friends and colleagues through detailed referrals.

8. SSDI Practice Expansion – We are continuing to grow our SSDI practice and plan to help many more people successfully navigate this process in 2024.

9. Coffee Upgrade – We take our caffeine seriously here, and our new Nespresso machine is a source of great joy to the firm!

10. Growing our Firm – We like to think that the workplace is generally trending in the right direction, but there is still a lot of work to do! We are hoping to add a new Associate Attorney to the Livelihood team in early 2024. If you or anyone you know has a passion for employment law and making a difference in the lives of the Colorado workforce, please check out our post on Indeed!
